Sign-On Letter to Congress Opposing Defunding of Planned Parenthood

The Academy joined 24 organizations on a letter to House and Senate leadership urging opposition to defunding Planned Parenthood through the budget reconciliation bill. Planned Parenthood provides over 2 million patients a year with essential, preventive reproductive health care and barring it from federal Medicaid funding would risk the closure of 200 health centers; more than 1.1 million patients could lose access to care.
