Comments to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) on Ageism in Health Care

The Academy sent a letter to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) in response to the request for information regarding the impact of ageism in health care. The letter highlighted the need to counter stereotypes around aging, advance nurse-led models of care and innovation for older populations, and expand education and practice opportunities in the care of aging and older adults for nurses and other clinicians regardless of their specialty. The Academy’s Aging Expert Panel contributed to the development of the response.
