Letter to Congress on Critical Importance of Funding for Biomedical Research & Health Priorities

The Academy sent a letter to House and Senate leaders urging continued prioritization of funding for biomedical research, including nursing research, through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) as Congress considers funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026. This includes supporting advancement of the Senate bill’s funding level for the NIH of $48.7 billion as well as the $197.693 million funding level advanced by both the House and Senate for NINR. The Academy also urged robust funding levels for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) for FY 2026. Read More
