The American Academy of Nursing and American Association of Colleges of Nursing hosted a briefing on Tuesday, July 22, "Powered by Evidence: Quality Patient Care Requires Nursing Science" featuring Academy Fellows Jeanne Alhusen, PhD, CRNP, RN, FAAN, Professor and Associate Dean for Research, University of Virginia School of Nursing, and Michael P. Cary, Jr., PhD, RN, FAAN, Associate Professor, Duke University School of Nursing, spoke along with Johane Joseph, BS, a patient and advocate. Antonia M. Villarruel, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor and Margaret Bond Simon Dean of Nursing, University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, moderated the discussion on the innovative methods nurse scientists employ to change the lives of those in their communities and nursing's science impact on improving patient care.

 

With room capacity at 50, AAN and AACN were thrilled to have a packed house of Bipartisan Congressional staff from both the House and the Senate were in attendance, as well as stakeholder organizations.
